System / General

General:
Hide My Computer properties - prevents System in Control Panel from running. This option also disables the WINDOWS + BREAK key combination. As a result, users cannot view and change system properties.  
Disable Registry editor - disables the registry editing tools (regedt32.exe and regedit.exe).  
Disable map/disconnect network drives - removes the Map Network Drive and Disconnect Network Drive options.  
Disable Windows Update - prevents users from connecting to the Windows Update Web site and removes the Windows Update hyperlink from the Start Menu and from the Tools menu in Internet Explorer.  
Disable MS-DOS applications - disables the ability to run DOS applications under Windows 9x/ME.  
Don't save settings on exit Windows - prevents users from saving certain changes to the desktop.

Display properties:
Disable Display properties - prevents Display in Control Panel from running.  
Disable changing appearance - hides the Appearance and Themes pages from Display properties.  
Hide Background tab - hides the Background page from Display properties.  
Hide Screensaver tab - hides the Screensaver page from Display properties.  
Hide Settings tab - hides the Settings page from Display properties.  

NT security options:
Disable Task Manager - prevents users to start Windows Task Manager to view processes, applications running, and make changes to the priority or state of the individual processes.  
Disable command prompt - prevents users to run cmd.exe - the interactive command prompt.  
Disable Control Panel and all its modules - prevents Control Panel and all its modules such as Display, System, Date and Time, etc. from running.  
Disable Add/Remove programs - prevents Add/Remove programs in Control Panel from running.  
Disable change password - disables the Change Password button on the Windows Security dialog box.  
Disable lock workstation - disables the Lock Workstation button on the Windows Security dialog box.
